Job Description

Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney
Brooklyn, New York | Hybrid | 2 to 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Build meaningful client relationships. Take ownership of important legal work. Grow into a leadership role within a respected estate planning and elder law practice.

The Opportunity

Miller & Miller Law Group is seeking an Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney to support and help grow its Brooklyn office. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful client interaction, increasing autonomy, and the ability to build long-term influence within an established estate planning and elder law practice.

Candidates with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply. The role can be shaped based on experience, with stronger mentorship and development for a newer attorney and greater independence for a more experienced candidate.

Experience in estate planning, elder law, probate, trust and estate administration, Medicaid planning, tax, or adjacent private client work may be a strong fit for this role.

About the Role

Depending on your current experience and leadership goals, this role offers the opportunity to support and help grow the Brooklyn office while managing estate planning and elder law matters with appropriate guidance and increasing independence.

This may include meeting with clients, identifying planning goals, developing legal strategies, drafting and reviewing documents, leading or participating in signing meetings, and helping ensure each client receives a smooth, supportive, and well-organized experience.

You will be supported by an onsite intake coordinator and firm leadership that continues to drive business development. As the office grows, additional paralegal support is planned, creating an opportunity to help shape the local team over time.

What You Will Do

  • Manage or support client matters from consultation through completion
  • Guide clients through estate planning, elder law, Medicaid planning, probate, and estate or trust administration matters
  • Draft, review, and revise estate planning and related legal documents
  • Communicate with clients in a clear, professional, and compassionate manner
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on workflow, client service, and office growth
  • Help ensure matters move forward with accuracy, organization, and follow-through
  • Support the development of the Brooklyn office as the practice continues to grow

What Success Looks Like

  • Clients feel confident, informed, and well cared for throughout the process
  • Legal work is accurate, timely, and aligned with firm standards
  • Matters move forward with appropriate urgency, organization, and follow-through
  • Communication with clients, team members, and leadership is clear and proactive
  • The Brooklyn office operates smoothly under your day-to-day legal leadership
  • Your work strengthens client relationships, internal workflow, and future office growth

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong writing, drafting, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Confidence communicating with clients about personal and sensitive topics
  • Sound judgment, organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Interest in growing professionally and contributing to the long-term success of the Brooklyn office
  • Familiarity with ElderCounsel, WealthCounsel, or similar planning software is a plus
