Are you a heavy-hitter when it comes to industrial repair? Randstad’s client in Ronkonkoma is seeking a lead-level Forklift Mechanic to maintain a diverse fleet of material handling equipment. This isn't just a "parts changer" role—we need a diagnostic expert who understands the "why" behind the mechanical failure. Whether it's a routine oil change or a full hydraulic system rebuild, you’ll be the go-to expert keeping the warehouse moving.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Forklift Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, or Diesel Mechanic.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Tool Ownership: Must possess a full set of personal hand tools (specialized diagnostic tools provided).
- Certifications: Technical degree or ASE certifications are preferred but not required; a valid driver’s license is mandatory for field service.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions (kneeling, reaching, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Diagnostic & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair internal combustion (LP, Gas, Diesel) and electric forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Systems Maintenance: Work deeply with hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical circuits, and brake systems.
- Preventative Care: Execute "Planned Maintenance" (PM) schedules to minimize equipment downtime for our clients.
- Safety Inspections: Perform rigorous safety checks and ensure all equipment meets OSHA standards before returning to the floor.
