Location : San Antonio, TX
Schedule : Full-Time
Pay Rate : $30 – $65 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Employment Type : Full-Time

Overview

American Generator Services is seeking a highly experienced Generator Technician to join our growing team. This role allows you to operate from your home base while traveling to client sites to service, maintain, and repair critical power generation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and load banking procedures on generators and related equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues using schematics in the field.
• Complete repairs, replacements, and system adjustments to restore optimal performance.
• Test and commission generators and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).
• Maintain detailed service documentation and complete work orders accurately.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding findings and solutions.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies while on job sites.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and build long-term client relationships.

Requirements

Must Have:

• Own and provide your own professional tools.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the power generation field.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot independently in the field.
• Experience servicing equipment from major generator manufacturers.
• Experience with load banking and preventative maintenance procedures.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) installation, service, and repair.
