Job Description

Join our team as an Industrial Electrician, where you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in industrial facilities. Your work will include handling wiring, conduit, fixtures, and electrical devices. You will also be involved in installing and testing new equipment and systems, as well as repairing and maintaining existing systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical codes, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other specifications.

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities.
• Install and test new equipment and systems.
• Repair and maintain existing systems and equipment.
• Read and follow electrical code, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other electrical specifications.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues, systems, and components independently with minimal direction and supervision.
• Troubleshoot VFD systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on low and medium voltage systems using tools like Tic Tester and scopes.
• Support safety, production, and facility health objectives.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles professionally.
• Assist in other areas and perform other duties as assigned.
• Operate mobile equipment for lifting, such as forklifts, boom trucks, and manlifts.

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, conduit, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with PLCs, Ladder Logic, and VFDs.
• Knowledge in industrial maintenance, use of multimeters, and oscilloscopes.

• 5+ years of industrial/commercial electrical experience.
• Electrical Journeyman License preferred but not required.
• Knowledge and experience in low and medium voltage systems; high voltage experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, circuitry, and schematics.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and a positive and productive attitude.
• Ability to work well with co-workers.

You will work outdoors on terminals in a dusty environment as coal is being transported. Candidates should be prepared for a setting where getting dirty is part of the job.

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Newport News,VA.
