As our project workload continues to expand, we’re seeking a skilled Commercial Pipe Welder to join our growing team in Columbia, SC. About the Role

As a Commercial Pipe Welder with Walker White Mechanical, you’ll work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, fabricating and installing welded piping systems to exacting standards. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to jobsite safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld carbon steel and stainless steel piping for commercial applications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and weld symbols
  • Cut, fit, and assemble pipe components for welding
  • Utilize SMAW, GTAW , and other welding processes as required
  • Produce welds that meet company quality standards and applicable codes
  • Follow all PPE requirements, site safety rules, and OSHA guidelines
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and field teams to maintain project schedules

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial or industrial pipe welding experience
  • Proficient in TIG, Stick, and MIG welding
  • Ability to pass a weld test prior to employment
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety and safe work practices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying field conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Combo Welder (carbon & stainless, TIG/Stick)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Familiarity with HVAC and mechanical piping systems
