Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager (non-profit)

Hours: Full-time position

Comp Range: $62,000-$75,000, commensurate with experience

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager who is equal parts strategist and doer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping KCFAA’s marketing direction while executing high-impact campaigns that help drive attendance, participation, and donor engagement. You will manage a Marketing Coordinator and collaborate across teams, but you will also stay close to the work by planning, writing, building, launching and measuring campaigns that bring our mission to life.

What You Will Do

Lead Strategy & Campaigns

  • Develop and execute an annual marketing plan aligned with programming and development fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with program staff to create content for promotions.
  • Lead key campaigns for performances, events, and major initiatives
  • Identify high-impact opportunities within budget

Manage & Mentor

  • Supervise and support a Marketing Coordinator
  • Delegate day-to-day tasks while maintaining quality and consistency
  • Foster a collaborative, creative team environment

Execute High-Impact Marketing

  • Oversee and contribute to:
    • Email & Digital marketing campaigns
    • Social media strategy and content
    • Website updates and user experience
  • Write and edit compelling content for campaigns, donors, and community storytelling

Grow Audiences & Engagement

  • Increase attendance and participation across programs
  • Build connections with diverse Kansas City communities
  • Strengthen KCFAA’s visibility as a cultural leader

Support Fundraising

  • Partner with Development on donor communications and campaigns
  • Create materials that support sponsorships and fundraising events

Track & Improve Performance

  • Monitor campaign performance and audience insights
  • Use data to refine strategies and improve results

What You Bring

  • 4–7 years of marketing experience (nonprofit or arts preferred)
  • Experience managing or mentoring others (formal or informal)
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills
  • Ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution
  • Experience with email & digital marketing, social media, and analytics tools
  • Experience with Canva or basic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite a plus)
  • Experience with website platform/design tools (WordPress a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with paid social media campaigns and audience targeting.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit, arts, education, or youth development organizations.
  • Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, events, or donor engagement initiatives.
  • Photography and/or videography skills
