As a Virtual Medical Administrative Assistant, you will provide remote administrative and patient coordination support to healthcare professionals. This role is essential in ensuring smooth communication, accurate documentation, and efficient daily operations.
You will work independently from home while collaborating with providers, patients, and care teams in a fast-paced virtual healthcare environment.
Schedule appointments and coordinate patient follow-ups
Verify insurance eligibility and assist with referrals
Document patient information accurately in EMR/EHR systems
Assist with patient intake and update medical records
Respond to patient inquiries via phone and secure messaging
Support prescription refill requests and prior authorizations
Obtain and organize medical records and lab documentation
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure continuity of care
High school diploma or equivalent required
1+ year of healthcare, medical office, or administrative experience preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred (training available)
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently
Certification (CMA/RMA) is a plus but not required.
