Commercial Real Estate Practice Assistant

Location: Charleston, SC (Local or self-relocation only)

Position Overview

A dynamic full-service law firm with over 400 professionals, is seeking an enthusiastic Legal Practice Assistant or Paralegal to join our growing Commercial Real Estate and Wealth Management practice in Charleston.
This is an urgent vacancy for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a candidate with at least 1 3 years of legal experience who is eager to sharpen their skills in high-level commercial transactions.

Submission Requirements (Strict)

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of Real Estate experience is required (Commercial experience is strongly preferred).
• Location: Candidates must be local to Charleston or willing to relocate immediately at their own expense (No relocation assistance provided).
• Industry: Candidates must come from a law firm background with a focus on real estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Transactional Support: Assist in commercial real estate closings and wealth management administrative tasks.
• Document Management: Format, proofread, and prepare multi-state and federal legal filings; handle electronic filings (e-filing).
• Administrative Operations: Manage time entry, client billing, and docketing.
• Coordination: Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and make travel arrangements.
• Communication: Act as a professional liaison between clients, external counsel, and court administration.

Required Qualifications

• Legal Expertise: 1 2 years of legal experience (specifically within Real Estate).
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office ; strong typing and organizational skills.
• Soft Skills: High level of confidentiality, professional demeanor, and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4-year degree strongly preferred.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work beyond standard hours when necessary to meet closing deadlines or project milestones.
