Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial sitework and wet utilities. This role is critical to project success and will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids across full site development packages. This is a hands on estimating role focused specifically on earthwork and underground utilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for full site development packages
• Perform quantity takeoffs using plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports
• Estimate clearing and grubbing, earthwork, grading, storm drainage, sewer, and water systems
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Analyze project risks, site conditions, and constructability
• Collaborate with operations and project management during preconstruction
• Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and value engineering
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, and suppliers
Qualifications
• 3 to 10 plus years of estimating experience in commercial sitework
• Strong experience with underground utilities including storm, sewer, and water
• Proven ability to estimate full site packages, not just vertical construction
• Strong understanding of earthwork takeoffs and utility installation methods
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Agtek, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and surveys
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
